Dating Bar in collaboration with RTE is inviting you to participate in an exciting television segment that will look at the role of AI in the future of dating!
The event organised by Dating Bar will involve Rare TV filming an AI speed-dating experiment. Rare TV, are the producers behind Futureville Ireland, a science and innovation television series created for Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTÉ.
The series explores how the science, research, and technology being developed today could shape the Ireland we live in by 2050. They are interested in what role AI could play in dating today and how it may influence human connection in the future.
As part of this, Dating Bar is organising a one-off speed dating evening as a light-hearted AI dating experiment to air as a segment on Futureville, set within a standard speed dating format.

To register your interest or find out more, please reply to Dating Bar confirming that you are happy for your contact details to be shared with the production team at Rare TV. A member of the team will then be in touch directly with further information about the event and filming.

How Speed Dating works?
What is happening during the event?
You will get a scorecard with the names of your mini-dates, how exciting! You will chat with each person of the opposite sex for about 5–7 minutes. That is just enough time to get a feel for their vibe and see if you would enjoy spending more time together. If it is a YES, mark it on your card! At the end of the event, hand your card to the host. The results will be shared the next day, who knows, you might have a match!
Be on time
We know that life can sometimes get in the way, and that is okay. For this event, please plan to arrive a little earlier to ensure we can start on time. Otherwise, you will miss the introduction, the “how-to”, and, most importantly, you may not have the opportunity to speak with everyone you wanted to meet.
How to prepare?
No special preparation is needed. Just make sure you look presentable, come in a good mood, and bring an open mind. We will take care of the rest!
Is this a gender balanced event?
Yes, we will do our best to keep the genders balanced.
What details will be shared with my match?
The default way we will contact you is through the email address you used to purchase your ticket. If you would prefer us to use a different email address, or your phone number instead, please let us know as soon as possible so we can update it for you.
The results
Results are usually released the next day! Keep an eye on your email, and remember, sometimes it likes to play tricks and send our messages straight to the spam box. So don’t forget to peek in there too!
Shall I suggest to swap phone numbers during the event?
It is not advised, as the concept of matching through scorecards allows participants to make their decisions discreetly and comfortably.
